A seven-time world champion triathlete has been killed after she was hit by a car while cycling.
Karen McKeachie from Ann Arbor, Michigan, was on her bike near the city of Chelsea on Friday when she was hit by another vehicle.
The 63-year-old elite athlete, who was inducted into the into the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame in 2014, died at the scene.
She has won the US National Championships 17 times and is believed to be the oldest women to win a triathlon - taking home a title when she was 58 years old.
Police have revealed little information about what happened and are still investigating. No one has been arrested.
